Job Summary
Pondo Pinoy is looking for a Sr. Accountant to take ownership of key financial and accounting functions. Reporting to the CEO, this role is critical in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and efficiency across the company's operations. The Senior Accountant will also have the opportunity to grow into a leadership role by building and leading an accounting team over time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and timely bookkeeping for PondoPinoy.
- Ensure the monthly close and reporting process is completed within 5 working days.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow reports.
- Handle end-to-end treasury and AR/AP processes, working with other teams and CEO.
- Prepare, reconcile and file taxes (Income Tax, VAT, withholding tax and other regulatory requirements).
- Participate in company-wide initiatives and advise on the accounting implications of new transactions or projects.
- Work closely with external parties such as auditors, authorities, and clients to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business. CPA certification is highly preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in accounting, including monthly close, journal preparation, and financial reporting.
- At least 2 years of experience preparing and submitting taxes in the Philippines (BIR forms such as VAT, Income Tax, Withholding Tax, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of Financial Reporting Standards.
- Proficiency in accounting systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and unstructured environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with fluency in English and Filipino.
