Job Summary
Pondo Pinoy is seeking a Senior Accountant to take ownership of key financial and accounting functions. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role is critical for ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and operational efficiency. The Senior Accountant will also have the opportunity to grow into a leadership position by building and leading an accounting team over time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and timely bookkeeping for Pondo Pinoy.
- Ensure the monthly close and reporting processes are completed within 5 working days.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow reports.
- Oversee the end-to-end treasury, accounts receivable (AR), and accounts payable (AP) processes, collaborating with other teams and the CEO.
- Prepare, reconcile, and file taxes (including Income Tax, VAT, Withholding Tax, and other regulatory requirements).
- Participate in company-wide initiatives and provide accounting insights on new transactions or projects.
- Work closely with external parties, such as auditors, authorities, and clients, to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business. CPA certification is highly preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in accounting, including monthly close processes, journal preparation, and financial reporting.
- At least 2 years of experience preparing and submitting taxes in the Philippines (including BIR forms such as VAT, Income Tax, Withholding Tax, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of Financial Reporting Standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and unstructured environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, with fluency in both English and Filipino
