Growth Strategist Intern

We are looking for a highly motivated Growth Strategist Intern to join our team.

About Us

The Pocket Protector offers unbiased, customer-first insurance advice. Unlike traditional agencies, we pay agents the same regardless of the plan chosen, ensuring impartial guidance. By comparing all insurance options, we help clients find the best coverage without sales pressure, focusing on long-term trust and value.

About the Role

As an intern, you’ll learn to create and manage social media ads that drive customer action and grow brands. If you’re driven by strategy, psychology, and analytics, this role is for you. You'll explore why some ads succeed while others fall short, how customer behavior influences ad performance, and how to continuously improve your results. You’ll also learn how to run A/B tests to assess and refine your ideas.

We’re looking for someone intellectually curious, who loves problem-solving and picking up new skills. You should be able to think critically about user behavior and have a good sense of what works on social media.

By the end of your internship, you'll take on real responsibility—planning, executing, and testing your own campaigns. Can you design ads that outperform? If you can, the rewards are big, including potential for a full-time role with career and salary growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Learning the Ropes: We’ll start you off by teaching you in three major categories:some text
    • Ad research: The best way to understand what makes an effective ad is by analyzing high-performing ads created by others. We’ll guide you through the process of identifying top ads and using tools to find the best examples. Then, we’ll show you how to break them down, so you can uncover the strategies behind their success.
    • Persuasion psychology: From social proof to the reciprocity principle, understanding key aspects of human behavior can significantly enhance your marketing efforts. These principles are not only fascinating in the context of digital marketing but also valuable in everyday life.
    • Analytics tools: To optimize your campaigns, you need to track performance in a structured way and gather insights into customer behavior. We’ll teach you how to use tools like Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, online surveys, and page tracking software to gather valuable feedback and spark new ideas for your next move.
  • Putting Your (Well, Actually Our) Money Where Your Mouth Is: How do you prepare and launch a paid TikTok or Instagram campaign? How do you leverage all the available tools to ensure your campaigns are not only effective but profitable? This is where everything comes together. And be warned—once you start seeing success, it can become addictive (and highly rewarding).

Background & Experience

  • Currently Enrolled in an Undergraduate Program pursuing a degree in Marketing, Advertising, or a related Business field, or equivalent coursework.
  • Available to commit to a minimum 3-month internship, or more.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify trends, and apply insights to optimize campaigns.Experience with analytics tools (Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, etc.) is a plus.
  • A solid grasp of social media platforms (TikTok, Instagram, etc.), user engagement, and how content goes viral. Ability to understand what makes ads resonate with different audiences.
  • An eagerness to learn new concepts related to marketing, persuasion psychology, ad performance tracking, and campaign optimization.
  • Willingness to receive feedback and iterate on strategies.
